Cure under Naturopathy is built on a variety of theories and concepts. For example, the theory of Pancha Maha Bhoota propounds that the body is a unique composition of Nature’s primary elements – Earth, Fire Water, Air and Ether. Treatment methods that follow this principle, include:
- Prithivi chikitsa (Mud Therapy) – Element Earth
- Jalachikitsa (Water therapy) – Element Water
- Vayu chikitsa (Air therapy) – Element Air
- Akasa Chikitsa (Detoxification therapy) – Element Vacuum
- Surya / Agni Chikitsa (Heliotherapy) – Element fire.
The Morbid Theory proclaims that disease in the body is the result of accumulation of morbid or waste matter within the body. The waste is eliminated by properly channelling the vital energies of the body.
